Since its first edition in 2010, the Screaming Fields Festival, organized by Rocklab, has become the yearly launch pad for young and talented bands and musicians from Luxembourg. On Saturday July 16 2016, the 8 finalists, who have all been selected through a public voting and a jury, will rock the stage of the Club of the Rockhal. This year’s line-up features District 7, Soulhenge, Rat October, Black Pearl Inks, Another from Above, The Kooters, La Relève and Marenelo. In addition, Cosmic FM (BE), a young band from the Province du Luxembourg, will be on the bill as well, as a special guest in the framework of Rocklab’s exchange activities in the Greater Region.
At the Club of the Rockhal
Saturday July 16 2016
In June and July, the 8 selected bands and artists will benefit from special preparation packages developed by Rocklab: specific workshops (vocals, home recording techniques), meetings where the bands and artists get insight into some technical essentials (stage plot, tech rider) and communication tools and strategies (social media), as well as interview sessions at radio 100,7. The preparation sessions are rounded off by a live rehearsal at the Club of the Rockhal, during which newcomers will have the chance to get familiar with a professional venue and learn how to handle their on-stage monitor sound, whereas the advanced ones will work on their live performance and the development of their live set.
On the day of the festival, several prizes await the final winners, who all receive further artist support packages put together by Rocklab and the partners of the event: best live performance (Ville de Dudelange & Rocklab), best song (SACEM Luxembourg & Rocklab), best promotional campaign (ING Luxembourg & Rocklab), Rocklab's “Coup de coeur” (Rocklab & Multipistes) as well as a range of concert opportunities at the On Stéitsch Festival (Service National de la Jeunesse), at the Stroossefestival, at the Rotondes, via the Service de la Diffusion et de l’Animation Culturelles of the Province de Luxembourg or at the Rock the South Festival (Commune de Pétange).
