An Introduction to Ableton Live - Workshop at CONGES ANNULES - FULLY BOOKED -Workshop
In the framework of its collaboration with the Rotondes during the CONGES ANNULES 2017, Rocklab will organise an Introduction to Ableton Live Workshop at the Rotondes.
Ableton Live is a flexible, powerful yet intuitive program for making and producing music, both at home or in the studio with a computer as well as with other instruments and groups of musicians on stage and in live situations.
For this introduction, held by product specialist and electronic music producer Andri Søren, no prior knowledge of the software is required. Andri will take you through the essentials of Ableton Live from the ground up, through a mixture of presentations, group exercises and individual instruction so that you will be able to navigate your way through the software confidently and will be able to compose a first track at the end of the session.

A propos d'Andri Søren:
Andri Søren performs and produces music, spanning the genres from house and techno to soundtracks and soundscapes, going in-between bright, low-tempo synthpop to dark, driving electro and dark, lush ambient electronica as sonøren. Of Icelandic/Scottish origin, Andri is currently based in Brussels; the vibrant, chaotic and contradictory capital of Europe and Belgium, where he is busy organising club nights and concerts as well as performing and producing. Performances are often completely improvised, based on an ever-developing live set into which years of synth-hunting, techniques and ideas have gone. Learning to play the piano and the violin from an early age, and once a tenor in a choir, the impulse behind live performances are to enjoy as much as possible the possibilities of improvisation and experimentation, employing the incredible versatility of ‘digital’ performing techniques and tools such as step-sequencers and modulation automation together with the analogue through the playing and performing of various instruments; sampled, synthesised, or sung. It is the moment of making, of creating which is key. Andri has performed at venues across Europe, including Iceland Airwaves, Beursschouwburg in Brussels and spoke at TEDx in March. He also teaches music performance and production, and is a product specialist endorsed by Ableton and has a popular Youtube channel. Lastly he is a co-founder of FTRSND, a collective of like-minded musicians located at the AB in Brussels, working together on curating, promoting and sharing good music.
